I want to study at the Art Students League to grow as an artist and develop my portfolio to apply to college. I want to go to school for animation because it is a deep passion of mine. In the future I wish to create animated movies and television series because of my love for both art and storytelling.

I am mostly influenced by artists such as Edward Hopper and Rebecca Sugar because of the way they tell stories through their different art forms and capture feelings like loneliness, sadness, and joy. They represent ideas around growing up and daily life. Even though Edward Hopper and Rebecca Sugar work in two different fields, Hopper as a fine artist and Sugar as an animator, they both manage to strongly evoke these emotions. I am also greatly influenced by Japanese animations such as Soul Eater, My Neighbor Totoro, Noragami and Classmates, as well as Western animations such as Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Over the Garden Wall and Spiderman into the Spiderverse.
I enjoy character designing. I feel that I have a lot of room to grow, especially in life-drawing. At the Art Students League, I would make the most of this opportunity if it is granted to me. I currently go to an art school, but because my major is animation, I am not able to develop my life-drawing skills. I have been in love with art in all forms for as long as I can remember. It has always been a part of my life and has greatly influenced who I am. I cannot envision a future for me that does not include art in some form. I am sure that if I get this scholarship, I will benefit from it deeply and offer some beneficial qualities of my own.
