My name is Kaleo Sol Aitcheson, I am currently attending the High School of Art and Design. I want to study at the Art Students League to expand the style of my work. My current drawing style involves using intricate designs lined with entangled abstract art. I hope that by studying at the League, I can move beyond my free-form style, and branch off into different forms of art. Most of my current work is abstract, and so I would like to improve my realistic drawing skills so that I can work in both styles freely.

I am not sure what I want to do when I am older. All I know is that I want to travel a lot and visit many places around the world. A lot of my friends tell me I should become a tattoo artist, but I worry that it would get boring fast. I know that I want to do something art-related, but I am still not sure what that might look like for me.

I have been inspired by Salvador Dali for a long time. I find myself connecting to his surrealist works, especially The Hallucinogenic Toreador, with its vibrant colors, compact composition, and repeating patterns. I also love Crucifixion (Corpus Hypercubus) and its geometric representation of the cross. Both paintings have stuck with me; they’re always in the back of my mind when I’m working on some of my free-form art. Dali’s juxtaposition of realism and surrealism is a feature I hope to develop in my own work.
