Living in New York City, I am constantly surrounded by art and artists. Being an artist myself, this constant immersion has shown me that it is absolutely what I want to do for the rest of my life. Throughout my high school career, I was always thinking about one question: What comes after? Now, as a senior, I can confidently say that I want to go to university and eventually become an art historian and art teacher.

My art history teacher at school, Ms. Meisel, is one of the reasons I want to take this career path in life. Her professional career as an employee at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and then a fantastic art teacher inspires me to do the same. She loves what she does and reminds me of myself in many ways. Ms. Meisel also loves art museums and is always recommending places to visit. This summer, through my own time and the Bloomberg Arts Internship, I was lucky enough to see many of these institutions and had an amazing time each visit. For myself, walking around art museums and getting to learn history from every corner of our planet fascinates me.

In November of 2022, I attended one class at the League and learned so much in just a few hours. If I were to return every week consistently, I am very confident it would strengthen my skills and prepare me to build a meaningful portfolio, develop my college applications, and help set up my future career as an artist and art historian. The League is made up of so many different creators and skill sets. This is the environment I want to be a part of. I feel very strongly that the Seeds of the League Scholarship can help me in getting to be the person I want to be when I am older.
