I am a 15-year-old artist attending the High School of Art and Design. I enjoy learning different techniques and skills to help improve my work and add to my skill set. Although I mostly do illustration and cartooning, I want to learn new mediums to expand how I can create art.

When I grow up, I hope to be a graphic novelist so I can use my art to create my own characters and stories. The variety of ways comics can tell different types of stories through images and words is very interesting and cool. When working on my characters and artwork, I enjoy working with digital and traditional mediums, including watercolor, acrylic paint, pen, and pencil. Along with drawing, I also like jewelry making, reading, and playing guitar. There are many graphic novel and animation artists that inspire me, but one, in particular, is Noelle Stevenson. Stevenson is a queer artist who has created books and animations such as “Nimona”, “Lumberjane”, and “She-Ra Princess of Power”, which are all stories with strong women characters. I first discovered Stevenson’s work by watching “She-Ra Princess of Power”. I enjoy her art style, and how she develops her characters. She has been able to reach and inspire a large audience, and I hope to do the same one day.
