My current goal is to improve my art, as I feel there is still so much I can learn. I have always loved to draw, but I only started taking art seriously three years ago. Even though I have improved so much since the beginning, I feel as if it’s not enough. I would describe myself as a hungry individual, a sponge always willing to soak up new information and learn and improve as much as possible.

My love for art started with my friend, who is also an artist. She was my biggest influence – in my effort to be like her, I discovered a love for creating art. Since then, I have been exposed to many different artists, such as Gustav Klimt, Alphonse Mucha, James Jean, and Claire Wendling. All these artists have influenced my art, and I have a sincere admiration for them. My goal is to reach their level of skill, but I do not want to be like them. I want to express my art in my way. However, I believe I must learn more before taking on this goal.

Being surrounded by other artists and professionals in their field will help me develop. As for my career, I want to pursue a career in Exhibition Design. It can be said that I won’t be pursuing a career that is directly in the arts, however, this can be subject to change; even if I don’t change my mind, it doesn’t mean I will stop creating art.

Art is important to me as I consider it a part of my identity. Without art in my life, I would not be the same person. Thus, I want to hone my skills and polish them to the highest degree.

I believe the Art Students League is the place to continue my journey and achieve my goal.
