As an aspiring artist, receiving the opportunity to continue to expand my creativity in art is an honor. Growing up, I was never sure what I wanted to be. As time went on, my admiration for art began to develop. I began drawing in middle school by drawing with references and switched up a few details. It’s been at least seven years since I first started, and I’m still in the process of drawing realistic features.
An artist that influenced me the most was Keith Haring. His works of graffiti art fascinated me when I once had an art class session while hospitalized. His style of modern art is what I strive to pursue because his artwork is colorful and has meaning behind it. The way Keith Haring draws such simple and extraordinary figures has influenced the present time because we see it on clothing in stores like Forever 21 and Uniqlo. His artwork is shown all over for the public to see. In the area of art, I have explored digital art, printmaking, portraits, and a little bit of pottery without the machine. In two years, I will be on the journey of deciding what I want to study in college.
