I want to study at the Art Students League because it is an amazing institution. It is over 100 years old, and many famous artists have been students here. It sounds like an incredible place with a lot of knowledge to offer. To be able to study at the League would be a special opportunity because of the variety of classes offered. I think studying several mediums to develop a range of skills is important. I would love the chance to study under the League’s instructors, who are great teachers and produce amazing work.

When I grow up, I want to be an artist. I’ve been in love with art since I was a little kid and there is nothing I would rather do. It feels like something that is always needed in my life. To become a professional artist seems like a natural progression for me, as I’ve spent much of my life so far playing in several bands and learning different art forms to better express myself.
The artist who I feel has influenced me the most is James Barbour. Barbour has been my teacher and is the one who inspired me to pursue a career in the arts and devote my time to bettering myself. Studying under him and watching him work has given me a new appreciation for art. Without him, I would not be the artist or person I am today.
